Biography

Stephen B. Pearlman is a founding partner of Pearlman & Miranda and concentrates in all areas of firm practice, except trusts and estates law. Mr. Pearlman has continually been recognized as one of the leading Project and Public Finance Law attorneys in the State, leveraging his finance skills to disciplines such as Redevelopment Law (New Jersey’s form of tax increment financing through RABs, ERGGs, and the like), Renewable Energy Law (creating the Morris Model, and its various offshoots, as well as offshore wind and energy resiliency models), and his latest foray into social investment law (where he currently is developing a first of its kind hedge fund—more to come).

Mr. Pearlman is known for Innovation. Once the model has been constructed, and then perfected, he is able to move on to the next challenge with the help of his exceptionally talented support team. His financing structures have won several awards and great notoriety, and his drafted legislation has been enacted to expand or clarify statutes to improve government programs.

Many of Mr. Pearlman's client relationships go back years, if not decades. At some point the needs and concerns of one's clients become one's own. Before becoming a founding member of Pearlman & Miranda, Mr. Pearlman was a founding partner of the Parsippany, NJ based firm Inglesino, Pearlman, Wyciskala & Taylor since 2010. From 2002–2010, Mr. Pearlman was a partner at Teaneck, NJ based DeCotiis, FitzPatrick & Cole, eventually becoming a member of the firm's executive committee. During the prior decade, he was a partner with the State’s oldest and largest law firm, McCarter & English serving as Chair of Accounts Receivable and Vice Chair of the Finance Committee. He started his legal career at the Wall Street Law Firm of Lord, Day & Lord, at the time, the oldest firm in New York City bearing its original name.

He and his wife Lorraine love living year-round in Asbury Park, NJ, and work to assist that community in its return to its once prominent status as a landmark destination. Lorraine was Vice President at Staten Island University Hospital for over two decades, responsible for operations in eight departments. They have three grown children, Georgetown University graduates Dan and Ben, and Carrie.
