Biography
Grace Chun is a Partner at Pearlman & Miranda. She has a unique blend of experience in both litigation and transactional law. Ms. Chun concentrates her practice areas in general civil litigation, land use, planning and zoning law, and real estate tax appeal matters. She has appeared before land use boards throughout the State of New Jersey in connection with obtaining land use approvals and permits for commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects. She has also appeared before the County Boards of Taxation and the Tax Court of New Jersey handling real property tax appeals on behalf of residential and commercial taxpayers. At her prior firm, Ms. Chun worked for firm attorneys Stephen B. Pearlman, Deborah S. Verderame and Patricia J. Ryou in the areas of renewable energy, public finance, redevelopment, and horse racing law. Ms. Chun also gained experience in administrative law by handling contested cases against state agencies before the Office of Administrative Law.
Ms. Chun’s general litigation experience include civil matters, tort actions, contract disputes, and actions in lieu of prerogative writs and has actively managed and executed all phases of civil litigation before the federal and state courts in New Jersey and New York. Ms. Chun also has extensive experience in state and local public contracts law, where she has represented both private and public clients on procurement issues and public bid awards. Representative matters include challenges to public bid awards and appeals of agency decisions to the Appellate Division.
Ms. Chun served as a law clerk to the Hon. Joseph S. Conte, J.S.C., Civil Division, Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County, during the 2009-2010 term. She is certified as a Special Civil Part (Small Claims) Mediator and has mediated numerous cases to amicable settlement. Prior to joining Pearlman & Miranda, she was a litigation associate with a boutique law firm in New Jersey.
