Biography
Adam L. Peterson is a Partner at Pearlman & Miranda and has been with the firm since its formation. Mr. Peterson’s practice focuses in redevelopment and redevelopment financing, and renewable energy law. Mr. Peterson represents both for-profit and non-profit developers as well as governmental entities.
As part of his redevelopment practice, Mr. Peterson guides clients developing projects in all asset classes (multi-family, for-sale housing, industrial, office, retail, and self-storage) in the utilization of governmental incentive programs, focusing on the negotiation of complex redevelopment agreements and development of financing structures, including through the use of tax abatements, redevelopment area bonds, and State tax credit programs. In addition to developing complicated transactional structures for multi-phased development projects, Mr. Peterson and his team are proficient in analyses necessary to secure financial incentives for developer clients.
In addition, Mr. Peterson has an extensive practice counseling developers and property owners in connection with the development of solar energy projects and developers of offshore wind projects. This representation includes filings with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, guidance in public procurements, the negotiation of lease agreements for community solar and grid connected solar projects, power purchase agreements, and engineering, procurement and construction contracts. Mr. Peterson has represented offshore wind developers in connection with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities’ Offshore Wind Renewable Energy Certificate program and related areas since the inception of New Jersey’s offshore wind program.
While attending Seton Hall University School of Law, Mr. Peterson was an Associate Editor of the 44th Volume of Law Review and a Senior Editor of the 45th Volume of Law Review. Before his legal career, Mr. Peterson worked as an Environmental Analyst for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Adam and his wife Parinaz have three daughters – Tanaz, Arrietta, and Leila.
